(Washington, DC) – On Tuesday, November 26, at 12 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will be joined by sexual assault victims and survivors, advocates, and community-based organizations as she signs into law the Sexual Assault Victims’ Rights Amendment Act of 2019 (SAVRAA 2.0).
Mayor Bowser introduced SAVRAA 2.0 earlier this year. The legislation builds on the Mayor’s 2017 legislative proposal by incorporating feedback from victims and survivors, advocates, and subject matter experts to strengthen the policies and improve outcomes for victims and survivors of sexual assault.
