(Washington, DC) – Today at 2:30 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser, Director of Planning Eric Shaw, DDOT Director Leif Dormsjo and Deputy DDOT Director Greer Gillis will hold a press conference at Shepherd Parkway at the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X Avenues, SE to annouce a multi-million dollar investment in the intersection.
The improvements to the intersection will enhance pedestrian and vehicle safety along the corridor while creating aesthetically-pleasing streetscape for multimodal access. The project is part of the District’s commitment to Vision Zero, an initiative adopted by many other big cities to end traffic deaths and injuries.
