(Washington, DC) – On Wednesday, September 6 at 10:15 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will join students and educators to celebrate National Read a Book Day and highlight local literacy initiatives with a visit to Friendship Ideal Elementary & Middle School.
In addition, Mayor Bowser will encourage students and residents to take advantage of the 26 DC Public Library locations across DC. There is no minimum age for obtaining a library card in DC, and children can sign up for a free library card at a local library.
