Mayor Bowser to Announce a Milestone in District’s #Fightfor15

(Washington, DC) – Tomorrow at 10 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser, District officials and stakeholders will provide an update on the effort to increase the minimum wage.

In Mayor Bowser’s State of the District Address this year, she promised to send legislation to the DC Council to increase the District’s minimum wage to fifteen dollars an hour by 2020. On Wednesday, June 1, 2016 the DC Council Committee on Business, Consumer, and Regulatory Affairs voted unanimously to pass the B21-712, the Fair Shot Minimum Wage Amendment Act of 2016. On Tuesday, the Council will take up the bill.
