Mayor Vincent C. Gray to Swear in Nominees to Corrections Information Council Governing Board

WHAT/WHO:              Mayor Vincent. C. Gray will swear in new members to the governing board of the District’s Corrections Information Council (CIC).

BACKGROUND:           The CIC will be responsible for the inspection of all facilities housing DC inmates who are under the jurisdiction of either the federal Bureau of Prisons or the DC Department of Corrections, and for the monitoring of the conditions and treatment of DC inmates incarcerated in those facilities.  Additionally, the CIC will play a critical role in assessing the re-entry programs and services available to incarcerated District residents at these facilities.
