Mayor Vincent C. Gray and DC Department of Health to Announce District’s 2010 Infant Mortality Report

WHAT/WHO:              Mayor Vincent C. Gray and officials from the D.C. Department of Health will introduce the city’s 2010 Infant Mortality Report. The report will highlight the District’s new infant mortality rate and programs adapted to improve health  outcomes for District infants and mothers.

BACKGROUND:           The infant mortality rate is the best-known indicator of a community’s health status.  The measure is used nationally and internationally to compare the health status of communities.
