Mayor Muriel Bowser to Present the 31st Annual Mayor’s Arts Awards

Mayor to honor the best in the District’s arts and humanities

(Washington, DC) – Tonight, as part of #202Creates, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (DCCAH) will present the 31st Annual Mayor’s Arts Awards at the Historic Lincoln Theatre. The Mayor’s Arts Awards are the most prestigious honors conferred by the District on individual artists, teachers, nonprofit organizations and patrons of the arts and humanities.

Individuals and organizations will be recognized in six categories: 1) Excellence in the Arts; 2) Excellence in the Humanities; 3) Excellence in Creative Industries; 4) Outstanding Student Award; 5) Excellence in Arts Teaching; and 6) Outstanding New Artist.

The following special honorees will also be recognized:
