Mayor Gray to Honor Excellence in Historic Preservation

WHAT/WHO:              Mayor Vincent C. Gray and the DC Office of Planning’s (OP) Historic Preservation Office will recognize this year’s winners of the 9th Annual Awards for Excellence in Historic Preservation.

BACKGROUND:          OP is partnering with the DC Preservation League on this event. Since 2003, the District government has honored over 100 outstanding projects, programs and individuals for exemplary work in, and commitment to, historic preservation in the District of Columbia.  The 9th annual event will honor 18 outstanding projects in the District that showcase the best of historic preservation, affordable housing, green architecture, public projects and memorials
