Mayor Gray Appoints Respected D.C. Civic Leader Barbara Lang to Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Board
(WASHINGTON, DC) – Today, Mayor Vincent C. Gray nominated Barbara Lang, the President and Chief Executive Officer of the DC Chamber of Commerce, to a seat on the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Board of Directors. The body oversees the administration of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Dulles International Airport.
“Barbara Lang is a longtime civic leader in the District of Columbia, and enjoys widespread respect from everyday residents, business leaders and public officials alike,” Mayor Gray said. “Her business acumen and personal skills will serve her and the people of DC well on this important board.”
Ms. Lang has headed DC Chamber since 2002. Previously, she served as Vice President of Corporate Services and Chief Procurement Officer for Fannie Mae and in several management positions with IBM. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, Fla., and has pursued graduate studies at Harvard University. She and her husband, Gerald, live in Ward 3.
