Mayor Gray and Other District Officials to Cut Ribbon on Benning Road Reconstruction Project

WHAT/WHO:  Mayor Vincent C. Gray and officials from the DC Council, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and the community will mark the completion of the Benning Road Reconstruction Project.

WHEN:                Tuesday, July 17, 2012

WHERE:             Sidewalk adjacent to the
                           Dorothy I. Height/Benning Neighborhood Library
                           3935 Benning Road NE

BACKGROUND: This reconstruction project has improved the traffic flow, connectivity and aesthetics on Benning Road NE and has enhanced safety for all users. The project area includes Benning Road NE between 39th and 42nd Streets.

PHOTO OPP:  Following the program, Mayor Gray, DDOT officials and members of the community will mark the completion of the project by cutting a ribbon and walking across Benning Road NE on the new signalized crosswalk at 39th Street NE.
