Mayor Bowser to Speak at FEMS Graduation Ceremony and Ribbon-Cutting for Training Academy

(Washington, DC) – On Friday, February 6 at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will speak at the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (DCFEMS) graduation ceremony for new recruits, followed by a 12 pm ribbon cutting with the Department of General Services (DGS) for newly renovated portions of the DCFEMS Training Academy. The graduates of Fire Recruit Class 370 will join the department as dual-role firefighters/paramedics.  The ribbon-cutting ceremony will unveil recent modernizations to the training campus and the construction of a new eight-story tower used by the department for training simulations.

11 am – 12:30 pm
The graduation ceremony begins at 11 am and the Mayor will speak at roughly 11:10 am. The ribbon-cutting will take place following the graduation at 12 pm.
