Mayor Bowser to Recognize Department of Corrections Recruits, Mark Return of the Correctional Treatment Facility to DC Government

(Washington, DC) – On Tuesday, January 31 at 5:30 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will join Quincy Booth, Interim Director of the Department of Corrections (DOC), to recognize 30 DOC recruits to be sworn-in as correctional officers. The CTF has been under private management of the Corrections Corporation of America for nearly 20 years, and the swearing-in ceremony will mark the return of the Correctional Treatment Facility (CTF) to DC Government.

Transition of the CTF from private management to DC Government will be effective on Wednesday, February 1. The outcome of the CTF transition will be a program-focused correctional facility with an opportunity to create new and expanded programming.
