(Washington, DC) – On Wednesday, March 1 at 2 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will join Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton and Senator Tom Carper (D-DE) to introduce a formal petition for DC statehood to the 115th Congress.
The Washington, DC Admission Act will reflect statehood efforts of the New Columbia Statehood Commission and the historic support District residents indicated for statehood during last year’s election. Last November, 86 percent of voters supported a ballot initiative for statehood.
